Terms & Conditions for the SBI Scholar Quiz 2025

  1. Definition:

    Competition SBI Scholar Quiz 2025
    Management Bennett Coleman & Company Limited and/ or organizers who are responsible for the overall conduct of the competition
    Participant Team of students from across schools in the country that registers to participate in the competition as per the terms and conditions, or is nominated by State Bank of India to participate in the competition
    Terms and conditions (“T&C” or “Terms”) The terms governing the competition, as may be amended from time to time by the awards management


    1. By participating in the quiz, the Participant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Terms.
    2. These Terms may be modified without any prior written notification. Participant is advised to regularly review these Terms uploaded on the Website. If there is any disagreement with any of the Terms and any amendments thereto, Participant must not participate in the Competition.
    3. The states or cities, rules and regulations thereof may be changed/modified/split/ merged /increased / decreased or cancelled by the Management without any prior notice.
    4. Management reserves the right to add or disqualify any team at its sole discretion in the event of any misconduct, rule violation, or any form of malpractice.
    5. If no Participants are found to be worthy of inclusion by the Management, the reward may be cancelled. The decision of Management in this regard will be final and binding. The Management will not entertain any queries in this regard.
    6. Students of classes 9 to 12 (both inclusive) in the academic term 2025-26 can participate in this quiz as a team of 2 students. Students who have appeared for the Class 12 examination (or equivalent) in 2025 are NOT eligible to participate. Students of a school of any recognised board of education can participate.
    7. Students of a recognized Junior College/ Pre University College/ Inter College in class 11 and 12 are also eligible to participate.

  2. Objective:

    To conceptualize, organize, and execute a national-level Scholar Quiz competition for students of classes 9th to 12th across 16 Indian cities, aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of the State Bank of India’s legacy and the broader BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sector. The competition will be conducted offline in English and will encourage academic excellence, promote financial literacy, and recognize top-performing students through expert evaluation and structured rewards.


  3. Eligibility criteria:
    General Eligibility Criteria:
    1. Participation is open to all recognized schools across India, including those affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, IB, and IGCSE. Students of recognized Junior Colleges/ Pre University Colleges/ Inter Colleges in class 11 and 12 are also eligible to participate.
    2. Students currently enrolled in Grades 9 to 12 are eligible to participate.
    3. Each participating school may nominate minimum 2 students, forming teams of 2 students each. In some cities the management may increase the number of participants from each school, depending on the capacity of the auditorium.
    4. A school can only take part in one ground event. A school MUST participate in the closest ground event in the same state.
    5. Schools must register team(s) on the Google Form by 10PM on the day prior to the quiz that they are registering for. For instance, for the 2 May Quiz, online registration will close on 1 May at 10PM. Subsequently, unregistered schools, keen on participation, may send their teams (with a teacher) to the venue, where registration may be allowed if logistics permit. The Management does not guarantee participation to such unregistered teams. We would urge all schools to register their students well in advance.
    6. All participants must carry their valid school ID cards at the time of registration for the quiz.
    7. Management holds the right to disqualify any team which does not meet the eligibility criteria. The management’s decisions are final and binding and cannot be challenged in any manner whatsoever.
    8. Management may modify the eligibility criteria from time to time with retrospective effect, without prior written notification.
    9. The Management reserves the right to change/ modify/ update the state or cities mentioned above for phase 1 without any prior notice.

  4. Process:
    Phase 1:
    • Each city event begins with a Preliminary Written Round.
    • School teams of 2 students each can participate.
    • Questions are displayed on a screen, and teams write answers on provided sheets.
    • Top 6 teams with the highest scores qualify for the Quiz and Buzzer Rounds on stage.
    • Top 3 teams are selected based on total scores from on stage rounds
      • First runner up and Second runner up receive their gratification
      • The winning team qualifies for the National semi-finals.
    • Number of Cities:
      • Phase 1 is conducted in 16 cities across India.

    • Note: The management will not be responsible for travel expenses of students and teacher(s) for Phase 1. Schools will make their own arrangements at their own cost for Phase 1.

    Phase 2:
    • Location:
      • Semi Finals & Finals will be held in Mumbai.
      • The final location with number of days will be updated and informed to the participants
    • Process:
      • The top 16 teams (one winning team from each city) compete for the semi-finale on stage round
      • Top 4 teams qualify for the national finale round
      • Highest scoring team in the national finale round wins the competition

  5. Limitations:
    1. The decision of the management regarding the selection of winners shall be final and binding.
    2. All Prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
    3. All expenses incurred by the shortlisted participants for traveling during Phase 1 rounds must be borne by the participants themselves and cannot be claimed by the competition management.
    4. All the travel and stay expense will be borne by the management for Semi-finale and national finale rounds only. The teams will be communicated for the same over their registered email id and contact numbers.
    5. All quiz rounds will be scored/evaluated based on pre-defined evaluation process determined by the management in its sole and absolute discretion.
    6. Participants are advised to carefully read and understand these rules & regulations before entering the competition. By participating, all contestants agree to comply with and be bound by these rules and regulations.
    7. By entering the competition, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the rules and regulations outlined in this document. The management retain the right to disqualify any participant found to be in violation of these rules, and their decision shall be final.
    8. Participants shall not engage in any activities that compromise the integrity of the Competition, including but not limited to spreading malware, viruses, trojan horses, worms, time bombs, corrupted files, spyware, or any other similar software that may damage the operation of the website or the property of the Management.
    9. Unauthorized access to the website, attempting to damage, disable, overburden, or impair any server, or interfering with any other party’s use and enjoyment of the website is strictly prohibited. Any participant found engaging in such activities will be immediately disqualified from the Competition.

  6. Minor Participation & Parental Consent
    1. Your accompanying teacher/ parent will sign acceptance of the T&C of this competition on your answer sheet on the day of the ground event. This shall be agreed as an acceptance by the children’s parents / legal guardians of these T&C.

  7. Media interaction
    1. None of the Participants shall, without the prior written approval of the Company, speak to the press or any other media or any third person, nor give any interviews or comments relating to any aspect of the Exam or write blogs, post any messages in social networking or any site including but not limited to Facebook and Google Plus. The Participant shall not disclose any information whatsoever relating to the Exam management, or the Exam to any other party. However, the platform encourages students to promote this competition on social networking without disclosing any information, in audio, video, text or any other format, pertaining to the questions being asked in the competition
    2. In case any Participant chooses to interact with the Media, then Management at its description may disqualify the Participant, and also may initiate legal action against the Participant and their guardian to recover losses, pay penalty, damages and compensation and indemnify us against any claims, expenses or liability from any person, entity or third party

  8. Winner Documentation Requirements (Any of these)
    1. The shortlisted participants will be required to submit the following verification documents to be eligible to collect any Prize:
      1. Address proof (Passport, Ration card, driver’s license, Aadhar card)
      2. Age proof (Aadhar, Driver’s license)
      3. Parents/Guardians Identity & Address proof (PAN, Aadhar, Voter ID)
      4. School Certificate Report card/ School Identity Card/ Bonafide Certificate etc
      5. Bank account number and IFSC code
      6. Passbook front page/Bank a/c statement with beneficiary details
    2. The documents will have to be submitted at the time prize distribution. In case, the Management does not receive the documents at the time the prize money distribution may be delayed or forfeited.
    3. The award of Prizes shall be subject to such verification to the full satisfaction of the Management.
    4. Any Prizes won or accepted shall be given on an “as-is” basis and are not returnable.
    5. Management expressly disclaims any warranties fully express or implied in connection with any Prizes permitted by applicable laws
    6. All prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable
    7. Prizes are subject to the laws prevailing in India, including regulations as may be applicable to the winner. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained under any circumstances.
    8. Disbursement timelines of prize money will be at the discretion of BCCL as per its standard day-to-day operating payment procedure.
    9. All personal details and information requested by and supplied to the Management by each Participant must be truthful, accurate and in no way misleading.
    10. The Management reserves the right to disqualify any Participant from the Exam at its sole discretion, should the Participant at any stage supply untruthful, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.
    11. If at any time, including after disbursement of prize, any information submitted by the Participant(s) is found to be incorrect, false, or otherwise misrepresented or misleading, the Participant(s) shall be liable to refund the Prize received from the Exam management
    12. In case the Winner(s) is / are found to be in violation of any and all Terms of the exam, the Management reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings against such person(s) including but not limited to having the concerned winner to refund the prize with penalty interest as deemed fit by the Company
    13. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash We are giving cash prizes.
    14. Any prize of value in excess of INR 10,000/- in a year will attract deduction of tax at source and all taxes shall be paid by the Participant. Further, the Participant must furnish a valid Indian PAN Card copy to claim the prize, irrespective of the value of the same, failing which the prize shall be forfeited at the sole discretion of the Management.
    15. All prizes will be subject to TDS under the Income Tax Act, 1961.

  9. Limitation of Liability:
    1. Management and its partners cannot be held responsible for any issues the participant may face during the examination due to unforeseen and un-accounted circumstances, arising out of internet connection / power cuts during the exam duration / malfunctioning of the machine or any other natural calamities or social/civic engagements affecting the participant / or any other reason beyond the control of the Management.

  10. Winner selection process:
    1. The shortlisted teams as well as the winning team may be featured or covered by the Management or brief thereof may be featured on the Website and/or any other platform/media at the sole discretion of the Management.
    2. No correspondence of whatsoever nature relating to shortlisting of teams or selection of winning teams shall be entertained.
    3. In the event of a tie, the final decision will be made at the sole discretion of the Judge & Management. This decision shall be final and binding.

  11. Winner declaration:
    1. Once team members are registered at the city-level registration venue, no member of the team will be allowed to withdraw or be replaced at any point during the competition.
    2. The Management reserves the right to offer or withdraw any of the prizes/rewards/gratification as provided herein, at any point of time, including after they have been announced.
    3. Management shall have the liberty, but not the obligation, to publish information with respect to the submission/entries made by the Participants.
    4. Participants declare that the details furnished in the application form and supporting documents submitted for the competitions are true, correct, and complete and, wherever required, provided after thorough due diligence and inquiry. In case any of the said information is found to be false or untrue or misleading or misrepresenting, the Participant will be liable and accountable for any consequences resulting thereto including indemnifying the Management for any expenses, costs, losses, damages incurred.
    5. The Participant authorizes the Management to use the content submitted as part of nomination/ participation, in whole or in part and use and display such content and entry, which shall include trade publications, press releases, electronic and/or social media posting to any website, electronic hyperlinks to the website of the Participant, and/or any other display format selected by the Management during the Competition ceremony or at a later point in time as it may deem fit.
    6. The Management may, in its sole discretion, exclude a Participant from participating in any part of the Competition on various grounds, which may include without limitation (i) circumstances which renders the Participant unfit to participate therein; (ii) inability to produce documentation specified proving the identity of the Participant; (iii) any other reason that, at their sole discretion, would adversely impact the Competition. At no point of time will the Management be obliged to notify unsuccessful Participants of its decision
    7. The Management further reserves the right to replace, at its discretion, any winner(s) who for any reason fails or is disqualified from or is unable to successfully participate in the Competition or breaches any Terms, with another Participant who should be eligible to be a winner.
    8. Management will have no liability to a Participant who is unable to take part in the Competition, for whatever reason and Management shall be entitled to disqualify the Participant(s) from the Competition, at any time, at the discretion of Management.
    9. The winners hereby agree that any in case of any disputes/ claims arising out of the prize, the same shall be addressed directly to the Management.
    10. Management may refuse to gratify the winners in the event of any fraud, dishonesty, or non-entitlement on the part of any of such Winner(s) to participate in the Competition, under the Terms.

  12. Phases and Dates of the Competition:
    1. The mentioned schedule could be added to, modified, or cancelled based on technical requirements and in case the Competition is for any reason rescheduled, extended, cancelled, or terminated early and same shall be the absolute sole discretion of Management.
    2. All applications received will be evaluated based on pre-defined evaluation criteria determined by the Management in its sole and absolute discretion.
    3. The decision taken by the Management, based upon the observation & recommendations of Judge with respect to the evaluation/disqualification/qualification is final and binding on all Participants. No claims/queries raised with respect to the same will be entertained in this regard.

  13. General:
    1. Participant agrees that the Participant is legally capable of entering and, if selected, participating in the Competition and agree to the Terms & Conditions
    2. Participant understands and agrees that merely participating in this Competition does not entitle the Participant to a prize or to any other form of consideration.
    3. Participant shall be completely responsible for handling any infringement or alleged infringement and shall indemnify Management from any claims, costs or damages from infringement or alleged infringement of the logo or trademark or the defines of a claim or any costs payable thereof.
    4. Participants for the purpose of entering the Competition, automatically grants the Management a royalty-free, irrevocable, worldwide, non-transferable, non-exclusive right and license to use and display such entry, for participation in the Competition, and any intellectual property in relation to and arising out of such participation in the Competition and footage thereof, which shall include trade publications, press releases, electronic posting to the Website, the Website in any display format selected during the Competition as it deems fit.
    5. The Management reserve the right to, at its discretion, withdraw or amend or add to the Terms & Conditions of the Competition at any time, with prospective or retrospective effect, and does not take responsibility for any loss or damage that any individual or organization may suffer because of participating or attempting to participate in the Competition, the Competition being withdrawn, or its rules amended.
    6. Should a Participant wish to withdraw from the Competition, kindly inform the Management in writing at any time up to one week prior to the final Competition ceremony.
    7. All disputes relating to or arising out of the Competition shall be subject to the laws of India, and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction at New Delhi, India
    8. In the event these terms and conditions do not cover any question or complaint in relation to the Competition, the same will be concluded on by the Management (for all other issues) or an independent body or legal team as appointed by the Management and deemed necessary.
